About

UW-Waukesha is a freshmen and sophomore campus, located in Waukesha, WI. The campus was founded in 1966 and opened with 500 students. Today the campus averages 2,000 students who come from a variety of backgrounds, academic preparation and ages.

The strength of the UW-Waukesha campus is the priority given to teaching. You won't be taught by student teachers at UW-Waukesha and class sizes are small.  In addition, relationships are fostered with the community, other UW campuses and educational institutions to help set our students up for success.

Many students choose UW-Waukesha because it is close to home and tuition is affordable. While both reasons are logical and true, students who become part of the campus community discover rich and rewarding opportunities - providing a strong foundation that carries them forward, no matter what their next step is.

As the largest of the 13 UW Colleges, UW-Waukesha offers the advantages of a small, private college with affiliation to the publicly funded University of Wisconsin System. Starting at UW-Waukesha is truly the best start for the life you want.
