Other
A suite of prints by Stephanie Copoulos-Selle has been added to
Quad Graphics' extensive art collection. Comprised of 15 woodcuts
plus a title page and colophon, The Guardians of Hours
had been exhibited in a spring show at Quad Graphics in Sussex,
was purchased for the permanent collection, and now is displayed
at Quad's Lomira, WI, facility. Guardians depicts 12
stages of human life.
Another of Copoulos-Selle's works, an artist's book titled
Lydia's New Rules of Order, was exhibited last spring
at a show at Lawrence University, Appleton, and bought in September
by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Golda Meir Library for
display in its Special Collections department. Printed on top of
old copies of Roberts Rules of Order, this work provides
"a new structure to live by," Copoulos-Selle explains.
Copoulos-Selle has taught in the UW System since
1971 and at UW-Waukesha since 1976. Recently, she has devoted
most of her talents to the creation of artist books. Her work was
included in The Remarkable Women Show this fall at the Peltz
Gallery in Milwaukee and earlier this year in a traveling exhibit,
State of the Book: Artists' Books in Wisconsin, that
was displayed at UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, UW-Milwaukee, and Walker's
Point Center of the Arts
