Travel
The UW-Waukesha Continuing Education Department has exciting travel
plans for 2010 -- and beyond! Upcoming travel events include fun and
fascinating Milwaukee destinations and exciting "across the pond"
locales, so look to us to be your travel adventure partner. Many of the
UW-Waukesha Continuing Education trips are led by the popular and
entertaining Vic Passante; Travelin' Vic will inspire you with his
fantastic knowledge and contagious enthusiasm for travel excursions.
Local Adventures: The Milwaukee Sampler
Milwaukee's Art Scene, Alive and Well (March 17, 2010, $110). It's theater, art and music all in one day in one great city! Tour the
backstage of the Milwaukee Rep; tour the Milwaukee Art Museum's
permanent collection; have lunch; then head to the Skylight Opera to
take in the hilarious "A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine." View the itinerary here.
Milwaukee's Museums, See What's New (April 14, 2010, $83). Three
museums that have received national attention! Have you see them?
First, let's tour the Eisner Museum, one of the nation's only
educational centers that focuses on advertising and design. Then head
to the Harley-Davidson museum, have lunch and move on to Discovery
World.

Milwaukee's Industry, Just a Taste (May 12, 2010, $62). Visit the
places that have helped put Cream City on the culinary map. Penzey's
Spices spices up the morning, then it's on to Palermo Pizza where we'll
have a tour and lunch. Finally, it's El Rey Foods for a demonstration
and tasting of their tortillas and tamales. Ole!

Photography Trip:
Southwest Canyons Photography Tour with Dan Gruen and Bill Meyer, (May
17-22, 2010, $1,595). Capture every moment! Create a lasting record of
Antelope Slot Canyon, Sedona, and Wupatki Pueblo and The Grand Canyon as
guide Dan Gruen helps you experience Arizona with a fresh vision. Bill
Meyer, an award winning photojournalist, will help you explore and
photograph the beautiful Southwest. Trip includes hotel, meals, and
coach transfers but review itinerary carefully for specific details. View the itinerary here.
Chicago, Ill.:
Explore Chicago (again!), (March 20-21, $392 double, $455 single). UW-Waukesha CE goes back to Chicago this spring! This year, it's a
dance-focused trip that includes tickets to the opening weekend of
"Billy Elliot, The Musical," plus "Sleeping Beauty" as performed by the
Tchaikovsky Dance Theatre from Perm, Russia. In addition, this trip
heads to the Art Museum of Chicago to see paintings and sculptures of
dancers by Degas, Lautrec and others. View the itinerary here.
Other Exciting Travel Options:
Edinburgh, Scotland, continues to lure us in. This time, it's 30 days
in the "Fringe" city with an arts-management internship opportunity in
conjunction with the Milwaukee Art Museum. Watch this space for details
about this exciting opportunity! View videos of last year's trip to Edinburgh's Fringe Festival here.
