*A portion of your registration fee will be donated to the Field Station Foundation Fund.
Instructor, Jeff Noska
This ceramic workshop focuses on the production of clay objects that will be fired in the Waterville wood-fired kiln at the Sherman building at the UW-Waukesha Field Station. Individuals will explore the various techniques applicable to clay, hand building by coil and slab as well as throwing on the wheel to ultimately create a body of work reflecting one’s personal style or aesthetic. The wood-fired workshop firing will collaborate with students from the UW-Milwaukee Wood-fired workshop course taught by Chris Davis-Benavides. All participants will be responsible for signing up for firing shifts during the kiln firing. We will also process wood for fueling the kiln. Each firing consumes approximately five cords of wood. This class is on-site at the beautiful and idyllic UW-Waukesha Field Station, W349 S1480 S. Waterville Rd, Oconomowoc.
