Community Users

The UW-Waukesha Library is open and available to all residents of Wisconsin 16 and older. Community users are welcome to obtain a borrowing card with a valid ID that shows residence in Wisconsin. A proof of residence is a document used to verify your name and address when obtaining a Library ID. Any document used as a proof of residence MUST include:

  • Your current and complete name
  • Your current and complete residential address
  • An account, document or identification number

These documents include current and valid versions of the following:

  • WI Drivers License
  • WI identification card
  • lease agreement
  • utility bill - gas, electric, or telephone
  • real estate tax bill
  • bank statement

Community users are able to borrow library materials from any of the 13 UW Colleges libraries, however, this does not currently extend to materials from 4-year UW libraries. Loan periods for items can be found on the Circulation page.
