WAUKESHA – Breaking down cultural barriers, the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha student Diversity Club has planned its second annual “Gathering of Cultures,” an evening of fun, free ethnic foods, and entertainment. Friday, March 3, from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. the UW-Waukesha Commons will be a multi-cultural showcase. Admission is free, and the public is welcome. The event this year is co-sponsored by Student Activities, which is sponsoring the headlining band, Big Nick and the Cydecos. The five-piece group from Milwaukee performs authentic Zydeco music. Influences include blues, Cajun, country, reggae, Caribbean, and Celtic, and the beat is energetic. Diversity Club also will hold a raffle to benefit its scholarship fund. Welcome and entertainment begin at 5:30 p.m. with the following acts booked:
