WAUKESHA – A representative from the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha will be at the Pauline Haass Library, N64 W23820 Main St., Sussex, on Wednesday, September 13, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. to provide information on returning to school for adults. The visit is planned at the same time as story hour for young children, allowing parents and caretakers to investigate opportunities for their own educational advancement. UW-Waukesha advisor for adult students, Mary Edwards will discuss concerns adults face in continuing their education. She will explain the enrollment process, describe the academic program, address reasonable expectations, and answer questions.
Based on a $2 million initiative recently set forth by the UW Board of Regents, adults are being encouraged to enroll at UW Colleges campuses to earn their foundation credits toward a bachelor’s degree. The initiative was spurred by the state’s interest in achieving a competitive edge in the global economy through a better-educated workforce.
