| WAUKESHA –Anna San Diego has accepted a position at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha. She started January 3 as multi-cultural student advisor in the Student Services department.
In her new position she will counsel students and coordinate several programs and activities designed to help students from different cultural backgrounds. Among these are a tutorial program and several summer programs: University Camp for middle school students and Pre-college Experience and English-as-a-Second Language for high schoolers.
San Diego had been Learning Services Coordinator at Marquette University for the past 4 ½ years and has taught dance at Footeworks Dance Studio, Wauwatosa, since 1999. She taught English to non-native speakers in Akita, Japan, for a year and a half. Prior to that she worked as a vocational counselor in Middleton, WI.
She holds a B.S. in psychology and MS in rehabilitation psychology, both from UW-Madison. She also studied at the Spanish/American Institute in Seville, Spain, and spent six months in Mexico training and counseling economically disadvantaged persons. |
