Canadian Folk Group Performs at UW-Waukesha

WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Visions & Expressions series will feature Tamarack, a Canadian and Great Lakes folk music group, on Tuesday, February 20. They will be performing at noon on the Hub stage in the dining area. Admission is free and open to the public.

The trio from central Canada started out several years ago singing traditional Canadian folk music, but over time their repertoire has evolved. Tamarack members James Gordon, Molly Kurvink, and Alex Sinclair have written songs that sound like traditional folk songs, but they really are very contemporary. The musicians weave together various styles to provide a musical vantage point from which to view the present through the past.

Sponsored by the University Convocations Committee, the Visions & Expressions series is designed to expose students to an intellectual atmosphere that can enrich their collegiate experience.
