WAUKESHA – Fulfilling that very human urge to douse the figure representing authority, students at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha will have the opportunity to dunk the chief campus administrator, Dean Brad Stewart, at their annual spring fling set for Thursday, May 3. Between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m. the dean will place himself in jeopardy of straight shooters who can hit the sweet spot on the dunk tank. Taking the wet seat after him will be Tina Current, a Student Services advisor; David Weber, computer services manager; and Jeff Smerz, theater technician.
Sponsored by the student Activities Coordinating Team (ACT), the festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. on the campus grounds at 1500 N. University Dr. and continue till about 2:00 p.m. Students, who invite faculty and staff to join them, can slip down a big slide (not of their grades), eat and drink, dunk the dean, and enjoy the music of Jim’s Big Ego, a cutting edge rock music group doing songs with witty, imaginative, and poetic lyrics.
The fling represents a sort of academic Mardi Gras: Final exams begin a week later on May 10. |
