WAUKESHA At the annual Honors and Degree Ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Wednesday evening, May 16, seven students received special recognition for their academic achievements.
UW-Waukesha awards Departmental Honors to students nominated by faculty for academic work that has been truly outstanding in that discipline as demonstrated in at least two classes. These awards are bestowed only when individual departments so designate; therefore, not every department gives honors each year.

- Menomonee Falls: Brian Maurice, Foreign Languages Department, Spanish
- New Berlin: Paul Henning, Chemistry Department
- Oconomowoc: Karl Bauer, Philosophy Department
Alissa Schmidt, UW-Waukesha Scholar Athlete
- Pewaukee: Therese Heckenkamp, English Department
