WAUKESHA Co-sponsored by two student organizations at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, Diversity Club and OLLA (Organizacíon de Líderes Latino-Americanos), the fourth annual Fiesta para la Comunidad will be held in the dining area Friday, October 26, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., with food service beginning at 6:30 p.m. UW-Waukesha is located at 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha.
Admission, food and entertainment are all free, and the whole community is invited to enjoy the celebration with students, faculty, and staff.
This year will feature a pepper-eating contest, with a cash prize of $50 for the person who consumes the hottest one. Fiesta goers also are invited to bring their homemade salsa. The one judged best will earn a $50 prize as well. Chips will be provided.
The program includes entertainment for young and old with a piñata and mask-making for the children, and both live and recorded music. Dance bands Los Clasicos and Caché will perform early in the evening, with DJ Sonido Pachanga taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume.
Food will be provided by the sponsoring organizations and through donations from local restaurants and food distributors. They include:
