WAUKESHA The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble will present their spring concert on Friday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, located in the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Dr. Admission is free and open to the public.
Leading off the evenings program, the Jazz Ensemble will perform works by Charlie Parker, by Earl Brent and Matt Dennis, and by Tadd Dameron. Following an intermission, the Symphonic Band will play a march, a suite, and overture. After another intermission, they will present classics by Maurice Ravel, Johann Strauss Jr., and Fred Jewell. Both groups are directed by Craig Hurst, associate professor of music.
