WAUKESHA – Student leadership awards were presented at a banquet ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha April 25. Recognized this year were:
- Outstanding New Club: Circle K Service Organization
- Advisor of the Year: Tina Current, Circle K Advisor and Student Services Counselor
Individual students receiving awards were:
- Lauren Horvatin, New Berlin – Presidents’ Award for Involvement. Chosen by a panel of club presidents, she served on the Activities Coordinating Team (ACT).
- Bill Sattler, Muskego – Emerging Leader Award. He was secretary of ACT, a student ambassador, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
- Dawn Hetzel and Chris Washebek, both from Delafield – Award for Excellence in Student Leadership. Dawn was president of ACT and founder of the LGBTS Pride Alliance, and Chris served as Student Government president and a student ambassador.
