WAUKESHA Head coach of the 2001-2002 state champion University of Wisconsin-Waukesha women's basketball team will be teaching fundamentals of the game again this summer to girls entering grades 7 through 12.
Coach Jack Hervert will give instruction on training and techniques for post players and guards and will teach the fundamentals of both defense and offense. He has assembled a group of basketball players and area coaches to help provide personalized attention for each girls game.
Camp will be held in the UW-Waukesha Field House Monday, July 22, through Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
The $75 fee includes a t-shirt and up to $1,000 of accident insurance. The fee should accompany the application. Registration deadline is July 16, and enrollment is limited to 30 students. Named Junior College Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, Coach Hervert has complied a 260-77 win/loss record with his UW-Waukesha teams. He has taken them to nine conference and five state titles in the past ten seasons. This year he also was chosen Coach of the Year by the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference and by the Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association.
