WAUKESHA The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha is hosting its second Athletic Hall of Fame Induction on Saturday, February 8, 2003, between the womens 1:00 p.m. and the mens 3:00 p.m. basketball games both against UW-Sheboygan at the Field House. The event will honor former campus athletic stars.
Yet, the staff still is trying to locate some former athletes. According to Bambi Butzlaff Voss, University Relations Specialist, Some alumni are in our database, but others weve lost track of, especially athletes from our earlier years. We are hoping to reconnect with any of those who have played for our teams.
If you attended UW-Waukesha, were an athlete, and have lost touch with the university, give her a call at 262-521-5445. Or you can nominate someone by calling the same number by December 13th.
The first Athletic Hall of Fame was held almost two years ago just after the Field House was remodeled. Former athletic director Mary Ryan and current athletic director, Neal Nelson, hope to continue the tradition of recognizing and adding outstanding athletes to the Hall of Fame status.
For more information on sports opportunities at UW-Waukesha or to get a basketball game calendar, phone Nelson at 521-5206 or visit the campus web site at waukesha.uwc.edu/studentlife.
