WAUKESHA The Friends & Alumni of UWW, Inc., an organized group of benefactors to the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, has approved 2002-2003 board members.
Joy Switala, Milwaukee, is serving as president of the group. Last years president, Mary Winze, New Berlin, has accepted the position of vice-president, and Bonnie Birk, Waukesha, is this years secretary. All are alums whose terms on the board end in 2003.
Members of the board are elected for three-year terms. Elected this year to new terms are alums Wendy Cooper, Milwaukee, and Sharon Pierce and Debbie Tweed, both of Waukesha.
With two years of their terms remaining are board members Russell Launder, Oconomowoc, and Jeri Sass, Waukesha, both friends of the University. An opening remains to fill the position of a member who left.
Past presidents who remain active with the organization include Thomas Mihal and Mary Ann Waldenmeyer, both of Waukesha; Harold Nedset, Brookfield; and David Elmer, Menomonee Falls.
By charter, these benefactors work to promote the welfare of the UW-Waukesha and encourage attendance at programs and events. They also administer scholarship funds for students at the campus. |
