WAUKESHA Son of the legendary Green Bay Packer coach, Vince Lombardi, Jr., will speak at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha on Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, located in the Fine Arts Center, 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha. Tickets are $5 each and available by phoning (262) 521-5212.
Weaving together stories from his childhood with his famous father and his adult life as a lawyer, politician, and football administrator, he will address Motivation, Commitment, and Mental Toughness with knowledge and his characteristic enthusiasm.
Lombardi inspires excellence. He will talk about the qualities, attributes, and habits of a winner and explain how clear, vivid goals, combined with commitment and mental toughness, can lead to success. There are no lazy people, he says, just people who dont know what they want or how to get it.
Raised in an atmosphere of personal power and achievement, Vince Jr. earned a law degree and maintained a private law practice while serving in the Minnesota legislature. He entered his fathers business in1975, when he joined the Seattle Seahawks as general manager. He went on to become assistant executive director of the National Football League Management Council, working as a labor negotiator, and later led two United States Football League teams as president and general manager.
In each case, Lombardi brought direction, enthusiasm, and the impetus to succeed to the organizations he served. Always putting people ahead of the association, he never lost sight of the team goals. Hes gained a reputation for being tough, yet fair; uncompromising, yet supportive.
