WAUKESHA University of Wisconsin-Waukesha students who earn an Associate of Arts and Science (AAS) degree with a grade point average of at least 2.75 and who are admitted for transfer to Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, will be awarded a scholarship ranging from $4,000-$7,000.
The scholarship is one component of an agreement to be signed April 21 between the University of Wisconsin Colleges, the 13 freshman/sophomore UW campuses, and Northland College. Students from the UW Colleges who complete an AAS degree will also be granted junior status upon transferring to Northland College, a private environmental liberal arts college founded in 1892.
This agreement is another indication of how well-prepared UW-Waukeshas students are upon leaving our campus, said UW-Waukesha Dean Brad Stewart. The educational foundation they receive here allows for a smooth transition to a quality institution such as Northland College.
A Northland College $7,000 academic scholarship will be awarded to any enrolling UW-Waukesha student who has completed the AAS degree with a GPA of 3.51 or higher; a scholarship of $6,000 will be awarded to students with a GPA of 3.00 to 3.50; and, a scholarship of $4,000 will be awarded to students with a GPA of 2.75 to 2.99. Students may be eligible for other financial assistance as well.
We are proud of the fact that those who complete a freshman-sophomore course of study at UW-Waukesha have proven to be better prepared and successful at transfer, said Stewart. Our agreement with Northland will reward students for their hard work.
