Auditions Set For ‘Laramie Project’

WAUKESHA – University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Theater Director Mark Lococo will audition actors for the fall campus production of The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project. Audition times are 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, September 10 and 11, in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on campus at 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha.

Lococo is seeking four men and four women, ages 21-40, to play a variety of characters. Anyone interested in auditioning should prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue, which may be from the play or another source.

Performances will be held Friday and Saturday evenings, November 7, 8, 14, and 15, and Sunday afternoon, November 9.

The Laramie Project is the dramatization of introspective interviews conducted over a year and a half with the people of Laramie, Wyoming, about the brutal murder there in 1998 of Matthew Shepard, a gay university student.

For information, contact Mark Lococo, associate professor of Communication & Theatre Arts, at (262) 521-5525.
