Director Picks Cast for ‘The Miracle Worker’

WAUKESHA – Director Neil Gregersen has announced the cast for the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha spring production of William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker, the powerful and true story of the release of young Helen Keller from the captivity of deafness and blindness through the difficult but creative and dedicated work of her teacher, Annie Sullivan.

Appearing in this production will be five students from the campus (marked with an *), eight children, and two adults from the community.

Jeremy Eineichner*, West Allis, as Helen’s half brother, James

Angela Gavran*, Wind Lake, as Helen’s mother, Kate

Hayley Gray-Hoehn, Brookfield, as blind playmate Beatrice and as a servant

Lydia Hartlaub, New Berlin, as Helen Keller

Jennifer Novitzke, Milwaukee, as the miracle worker, Annie Sullivan

Emily Olson, Brookfield, as blind playmate Laura and as a servant

Kelley Paape, Mukwonago, as blind playmate Alice and as a servant

Gregory Rogalinski, Milwaukee, as the doctor and as Anagnos

Nicholas Rogalinski, Milwaukee, as Viney’s son and Helen’s playmate

Stephanie Rogalinski, Milwaukee, as Viney’s daughter and Helen’s playmate

Heather-Marie Smith*, Waukesha, as Aunt Ev

Student Stacey Maddox, Menomonee Falls, will assist the director and do the stage management.

Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturdays, March 12, 13, 19, and 20, at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, located in the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Drive, Waukesha. Tickets, priced at $7 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens (aged 62 and older), are available from the ticket office, (262) 521-5212. Doors open an hour before each performance.
