WAUKESHA On Saturday, February 12, the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha will induct its third group into the campus Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony to honor 18 outstanding athletes will be held courtside between the womens and mens home basketball games. They will play at the UW-Waukesha Field House on campus at 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha. A reception will follow the induction in the dining area in the Commons building.
The women Cougars face the UW-Washington County Wildcats at 1:00 p.m., and the men will host the UW-Fond du Lac Centaurs at 3:00 p.m.
Joining the 57 athletes and coaches who already have been named to the Hall of Fame will be:
April Arvan, Howards Grove, attended 1986-89 and played basketball. Currently she is womens basketball coach for Lakeland College, Sheboygan.
Brian Cooley, Waukesha, attended 1981-83 and played basketball. He is a principal in the architectural firm, Brian Cooley and Associates, LLC.
Jevon Davis, Milwaukee, attended 1994-97 and played basketball
Mark Fedenia, Middleton, attended 1974-75 and played basketball
Tom Killian, Nekoosa, attended 1966-68 and played basketball
Dan Loftus, Sussex, attended 1982-84 and ran cross-country
David Lombardi, Waukesha, attended 1980-82 and played basketball
Jim Lombardi, Waukesha, attended 1982-84 and participated in basketball, cross-country, golf, and tennis
Robyn Luther, Onalaska, attended 1982-84 and played basketball and volleyball
Roxanne Nelson-Pinzl, Alpharetta, GA, attended 1978-79 and played volleyball
Dan Norcia, Highland Park, IL, attended 1983-84 and played basketball
Jean Opie Loui (deceased) attended 1978-80, has family in Pewaukee, and played volleyball..
Robert Opie, Pewaukee, attended 1981-83 and played basketball
John Pannell, Milwaukee, attended 1994-95 and played basketball
Kris Radish, Oconomowoc, attended 1973 and participated in fencing. The local journalist recently had her book, Dancing Naked at the Edge of Dawn, published by Bantam Dell.
