WAUKESHA Students at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha held a special election last week to fill positions on student government that were vacated when the office holders transferred to other schools or registered for class schedules that could no longer accommodate the service time.
Joining seven continuing Student Government Association (SGA) senators and three officers, five students were elected this month:
- Jacob Grooms and Lili Zuniga, Hartland
- Mary Ruhnke, Pewaukee
- Camille Ovadal and Kristina Neault, West Allis
Senators sit on campus-wide committees, create policy for student governance, sponsor related activities, and serve as liaison with the administration.
SGA officers this year are:
- President: Kurt Reiss, Menomonee Falls
- Vice President Emily Carlton, Milwaukee
- Public Relations Mark Dethardt, Mayville
UW-Waukesha has the largest enrollment among the thirteen freshman-sophomore UW Colleges campuses. For information about programs, admissions, or financial aid, contact the Student Services office at (262) 521-5200 or visit the Web at waukesha.uwc.edu.
