WAUKESHA Once again the student Diversity Club at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha will hold its annual Gathering of Cultures, an evening of fun, free ethnic foods, and entertainment. On Friday, March 4, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., the UW-Waukesha Commons, 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha, will become a multi-cultural showcase. Admission, food and entertainment all are free, and the public is invited.
In addition, the club is holding two raffles to raise money for the Diversity Club scholarship. A $1 raffle ticket (6 for $5) gives the purchaser a chance to win Bucks tickets, restaurant certificates, gas cards, and more. In a separate raffle, tickets to win an iPod mini cost $2 each.
Entertainment includes belly dancing, Middle Eastern dancers, and an Irish band, and there will be arts and crafts for the children.
Ethnic flavors of the world will be served up. They represent four continents: Europe (German and Italian foods), Africa, Latin America, and Asia (Thai and Indian dishes).
UW-Waukesha has the largest enrollment among the 13 freshman-sophomore University of Wisconsin Colleges. For information about programs, admission, or financial aid, contact the Student Services office, (262) 521-5200, or visit waukesha.uwc.edu.
