Spring Choral Concert Turns Fondly to Love

WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha Choir will present its annual concert on

Friday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on campus, 1500 N. University Dr.,

Waukesha. There is no charge, and the public is invited.

Starting with a spring theme, choir director Brian McLinden has put together a program of songs with a heavy emphasis on the love the season implies. He starts with J.S. Bach’s To Spring and mixes in classical and modern compositions, among them Thomas Arne’s Which is the Properest Day to Sing, Billy Joel’s And So It Goes, George Harrison’s Here Comes the Sun, and concluding with Thomas Morley’s It Was a Lover and His Lass.

Members of the choir are:

Colgate: Joe Cattani, bass

Franklin: Rachel Albert, soprano

Hartland: Cortney Loppnow, soprano

Mukwonago: Barbie Peters, alto

New Berlin: Flynn Woller, tenor

Pewaukee: Julia Myre, alto

Waukesha: Ed Bartz, tenor; Colin Manor, bass; Amber Mason, alto; Erik Paaske, bass; and Michael Saldivar, tenor

Wauwatosa: Jacob Deleon, bass; and Karin Plotkin, soprano

West Allis: Tim Hawkins, bass

Carol Kennedy will accompany on the piano.
