WAUKESHA Student leaders at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha were recognized for their contributions to student activities at the campus at an April 28 banquet.
Chosen for the Presidents Award for Involvement by the presidents of all the active clubs on campus was Keila Gonzales, Waukesha, who headed the Organization for Latino Leaders (OLLA).
Active in the Student Government Association (SGA), Jakub Szptma, New Berlin, received the Emerging Leader Award. Grover Scanlan, Waukesha, who has been a leader in the African American Union (AAU) as well as SGA, was presented the Award for Excellence in Student Leadership.
Students for Peace, founded by Jim Cooper, Hartland, was named the Outstanding New Club. Margaret Rozga, Waukesha, a professor of English, served as advisor for the club.
Advisor to the Muslim Student Association and to OLLA and co-advisor to AAU, multi-cultural student advisor Anna San Diego, Milwaukee, was honored as Advisor of the Year.
