WAUKESHA – Two members of the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha 2005 conference- and state-championship soccer team have been named all-conference. Three more were given honorable mention.
Coach Jeff Smerz, West Allis, was chosen co-coach of the year, along with the coach of the season rival UW-Rock County.
The team suffered a single loss all season – in a shoot-out with UW-Rock County – but came back to defeat that same team to capture the state title.
UW-Waukesha students elected to the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference first team this year were
- Erik Fosdick, Waukesha
- Jake Kuglitsch, New Berlin
Receiving conference honorable mention were
- Mike Sabljak, Greenfield
- Alex Swendson, Pewaukee
- Derek Vondross, Waukesha
