WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha choir and string ensemble will present a seasonal concert on Friday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, located in the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Dr. Admission is free, and the public is welcome.
Violinists Jacob Szcygiel, Waukesha, and Amy Teutenberg, Hartland, and piano accompanist Sharon Goodrum, Dousman, will open the program with excerpts from Mancinelli’s 24 Duets and Handel’s Messiah.
Then, the University Chorus will take the stage, presenting four works, including an original composition by director Brian McLinden, Brookfield, and Biebl’s Ave Maria.
The String Ensemble will return to perform five movements from Purcell’s Golden Sonata, followed by a choral rendition of Vivaldi’s Gloria. Sopranos Deborah Skidmore, Eagle, and Rachel Albert, Franklin, will do the Laudamus te in duet and Michelle Hessil, Waukesha, a solo of Domine Deus. Altos Barbie Peters, Eagle, and Morgan Montesanto, Waukesha, each will perform solos. The singers will be accompanied by piano.
