WAUKESHA – Once again the student Diversity Club at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha will hold its annual “Gathering of Cultures,” an evening of fun, free ethnic foods, and entertainment. On Friday, April 21, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., the UW-Waukesha Commons, 1500 N. University Dr., Waukesha, will become a multi-cultural showcase. Admission, food and entertainment all are free, and the public is invited.
In addition, the club is holding a raffle to raise money for the Diversity Club scholarship. A $2 raffle ticket (3 for $5) gives the purchaser a chance to win restaurant certificates, gas cards, movie rentals, or a laptop computer.
Entertainment will appeal to many tastes:
- 7:00 p.m. Hip-Hop Dancers
- 7:30 p.m. Piñata (great event for children)
- 8:00 p.m. Middle Eastern Belly Dancers
- 8:30 p.m. Eloy Hinojosa (Musician)
- 9:00 p.m. Caledonian Scottish Dancers & Piper
- 9:30 p.m. Bafa`Bafa` (A cultural communication experience)
- 10:00 p.m. Dancing until close
Ethnic flavors of the world will be served up, capped by festive desserts.
