WAUKESHA – At its June meeting, the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents set tuition rates for the 2006-07 academic year. Including segregated fees, which are assessed by student government, Wisconsin residents who attend the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha full time (12-18 credits) will pay $2,250.45 each semester. This also includes a $2 per student charge for the campus student government membership in United Council.
With the UC fee incorporated, a single credit will cost $189.37, and a 3-credit course is $564.11. Residents may audit a class at $55 per credit, and the UC fee does not apply; those aged “UW-Waukesha remains one of the outstanding deals in higher education in the state,” campus dean Patrick Schmitt said. “We've got the best value for a student’s dollar in the system – not only the lowest tuition, but the huge advantage of being able to go to a high-quality college close to home.”
There is still time to register for fall classes, which begin September 5.
The University of Wisconsin Colleges, of which UW-Waukesha is the largest campus, offer freshman and sophomore courses with credits guaranteed to transfer to other UW campuses, making the Colleges a financially sound choice for beginning college students.
