WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha
choir and string ensemble will present a seasonal concert on Friday,
December 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, located in
the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Dr. Admission
is free, and the public is welcome. Donations for the music
scholarship fund will be gratefully accepted.
The program opens with the University Chorus,
under the direction of
Brian
McLinden, performing a repertoire of seasonal songs, both sacred
and secular.
The String Ensemble follows with selections
from Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin, as well as a Shaker hymn.
The Chorus will return to set the mood for
Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s setting of the Magnificat,
performed by soloists from the choir and showcasing accompanist
Nancy Bratt.
