WAUKESHA – Student art again this year will be
part of the show. Local colleges submitted work by their
students to the 2007 Lakefront Festival of Arts Collegiate Art
Competition, a juried competition sponsored by Alice and Martin
Krebs.
The work of three University of
Wisconsin-Waukesha students was chosen for exhibition at the
prestigious festival, set for June 15-17 on the lakefront
outside the Milwaukee Art Museum. They are:
Ron Kading, Waukesha, showing his
intaglio, “Torn Woman”
Laureen Scarboro, Sussex, exhibiting
her sculpture, “Stele Dreams”
Neil Subel, Muskego, displaying his
painting, “Incognito.”
The art faculty at Alverno, Cardinal
Stritch, Carroll, Carthage, Concordia, Milwaukee Area Technical
College, Mount Mary, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, UW-Waukesha, and
Wisconsin Lutheran College could pick up to 25 pieces of student
art to be judged by a panel of experts. Of these, only 50 will
be exhibited at the Festival.
UW-Waukesha has the largest enrollment among the 13 freshman-sophomore University of Wisconsin Colleges campuses. For information about programs, admission, or financial aid, contact the Student Services office at (262) 521-5040 or visit the Web at www.waukesha.uwc.edu.
