WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Waukesha
chorus and string ensemble, directed by associate lecturer in music
Brian
McLinden, will present a concert, “Ready for the Spring,” on
Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre located
in the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Dr.,
Waukesha. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
The program features Madrigals, part songs, and
love songs by composers such as Thomas Morley, Stephen Foster, and
Brahms and text by classic greats, including Robert Burns and
William Shakespeare.

Carol Kennedy, Milwaukee, will accompany
on the piano.
Performing with the string ensemble are
violinists Melissa Freson and Amanda Winkler, Mukwonago, and
Valerie Ray, Waukesha.
