OBJECTIVES

1.    To acquire knowledge about the benefits of fitness.

2.    To make students aware of lifetime diseases exercise may prevent.

3.    To give the student information so they may assess their own fitness levels.

4.    To learn the benefits of flexibility, cardio respiratory endurance, strength and muscular endurance.

5.    To provide students information so they may make proper nutrition choices.

6.    To provide awareness of potential exercise injuries.

7.    To learn ways to reduce stress and practice relaxation techniques.

8.    To give students active participation experiences to learn the above objectives

Grading Scale-Lecture (50% of your class grade)

4 quizzes = 1 test score

mid term exam

final exam

you are allowed 1 absence- your grade drops one level every absence after.

Grading Scale-Lab (50 % of your class grade)

30 lab periods are worth 10 points apiece-you must be in attendance to have a chance to earn all 10 points.

4 class projects worth 10 points apiece

300 total       graded on a 70% scale
