The UW-Waukesha Bookstore buys back books everyday! We will buy your books no matter where you purchased them. This is an opportunity for students to turn the books they no longer need into cash. We do buy back books throughout the year; however, the best time to sell us your books is Finals Week.

Reasons Affecting Book Buyback Value

• Instructor has authorized re-use of the book.
• Instructor has discontinued book or not indicated it will be used next term.
• Bookstore is now overstocked.
• Publisher has a new edition, and prior edition has no value.
• Book is too ragged or in too poor condition to be resold.
• Book has limited nationwide demand.
• Book is an international edition.

Life of a Textbook

The average life of a textbook is about three years; this is often when a new edition appears. The closer a book gets to this age, the less value it has. Because of this, you should sell your books as soon as possible after you have determined that you no longer need them.

Remember: Buying books from other sources is a risk as textbooks can vary per semester.
