Placement Tests
Placement tests in English and Math are required of all new freshmen at UW-Waukesha. All other students may also be required to take the English and/or Math placement tests. You must submit the New Student Registration form that came in your admissions letter to sign up for a placement test (fee for placement tests is included in new student fee). If you need an additional copy, or if you are a continuing or special student needing to take a placement test, please contact Courtney Trice in Student Services at 262-521-5040 or by email at courtney.trice@uwc.edu.
If you need to take both the English and Math placement tests, expect to be on campus for approximately 4 hours. Each test runs 90 minutes. You will have one 10-15 minute break in the middle of the tests. A short presentation follows the tests.
Foreign Language tests will be given on all dates for Spanish, French and German. If you plan to pursue further study in any of these languages and you have at least two full years of previous study, you must take the foreign language placement exam. The foreign language placement test runs 60 minutes.
We do not accept walk-in’s on the day of the test without prior consent.
