Women's Basketball 2005-2006
2006 Wisconsin Collegiate Conference Champions
2005-06: A 30-2 overall record, 10-0 in conference play, 25 straight wins, 41 consecutive home wins, 80 consecutive conference wins, and 9 straight state tournament appearances highlight this group's accomplishments. Dawn LaBonte was named WCC conference player of the year and first team all state while setting school records in shot attempts, points in one single game, (36) and minutes played, as well as finishing fourth all time in career scoring. She was considered only the second 5 spot player in school history (the other being Michelle Reynolds: 1998-2000). Natasha Smith was named first team all conference and set school records in career rebounds (545), and rebounds in one season (322). She also is second all time in steals (186). Kira Flack was named honorable mention all conference while setting a school record in steals in one season (125). Katie Fitzgerald collected close to 400 rebounds, placing her third on the career list. In what would be considered one of the greatest weeks in the history of the program, the cougars defeated two division II teams from Ohio, and two division I teams from Florida, while in the process had the first undefeated month of January since 1995.
