Our Mission

The mission of the University of Wisconsin‐Milwaukee at Waukesha LGBTQIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questions, Intersex, Asexual/Ally) Resource Center is to educate the campus and larger community on LGBTQIA-related issues so as to make UWM at Waukesha a truly welcoming campus for LGBTQIA students.

With goal of making the campus as whole a safe learning environment for LGBTQIA students, the LGBTQIA Resource Center will be a model Safe Zone for the campus through the training of its staff, the development of its lending library, and the providing of connections to campus and community LGBTQIA resources. As part of this mission, the LGBTQIA Resource Center will foster allyship and advocacy among students, faculty, and staff. The LGBTQIA Resource Center will coordinate relevant training, sponsor related speakers and programs, and promote collaborative faculty/staff-student research projects.
